| Popis: | As youth sports participation continues to increase, there has been a corresponding increase in the amount of injuries seen, especially overuse injuries of the shoulder. Although youth athletes may present with many of the same complaints as more mature athletes, differences in anatomy often lead to age-specific injuries. This chapter covers the presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of several pediatric throwing injuries including little league shoulder, shoulder instability, and superior labral anterior–posterior lesions. Additionally, risk factors, throwing evaluation, interval throwing programs, and return to play are discussed. |
