Popis: Disciplinary perspectives on the city and its materiality are as splintered as the contemporary city itself. This forum article offers a sympathetic critique of planning's contributions to discussions of the compact city idea. However, it also reproduces some of the misconceptions geography and planning scholars have of each other and their work in which waving is mistaken for drowning.
