In 2021, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) undertook an evaluation of the FMD scheme. ABARES provided this report as input to the evaluation. This report presents results from ABARES annual Australian Agricultural and Grazing Industries Survey (AAGIS), including analysis of specific data collected on FMD use in 2018 and 2020. This report focuses on results for broadacre farms because they dominate total FMD holdings. The analysis in this report focuses on the characteristics of farms with FMDs by region and industry, reasons for using FMDs, and influences behind FMD deposits and withdrawals. |
