Popis: The theme of inclusion falls within the global contemporary framework of political, social and economic strategies. In Europe, the European Commission frames it in the broader framework of the Green Deal (COM2019, 640 final - A New European Bauhaus, 2020 - European Pillar of Social Rights, 2017), in relation to researches and experimentations of innovative solutions for the sustainable development and inclusive growth, and, in particular, for the enhancement of local resources and the improvement for all of the opportunities for accessibility to products, services and the built environment. Actually, the wider theme of accessibility already has a history of its own, which has developed over the last few decades, and which has seen the development of different approaches which, starting from even different assumptions, cultural contexts and philosophical principles, they focus on the goal of increasing the accessibility of environments, products and systems for as many individuals as possible. This contribution aims to investigate the different concepts used to define accessibility, also through a historical excursus, to highlight points of contact and differences between the different approaches of design for inclusion.
