| Popis: | Functional ischemic mitral regurgitation is most commonly repaired by mitral annuloplasty. Important surgical principles must be followed when repairing ischaemic mitral valves by annuloplasty to ensure a durable long term repair. When these principles are followed, a durable, long term repair is achievable. Recent randomized controlled trials have given insights into the groups of patients who would benefit most from concomitant mitral annuloplasty and coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
