A multiprocessor real-time operating system can greatly simplify the implementation of an application for a multiprocessor system. But the comfort of such systems has to be paid with a high consumption of resources. In particular for system based on usual microprocessors, this may have a strong influence on the real-time capabilities. In this paper some simple methods for the evaluation of the real-time properties are discussed and measurements on a system, based on Microcontroller from the 68000 family, running under the control of the realtime operating system pSOS+m and coupled with a CAN fieldbus, are presented. |
