Popis: | Upon arriving at my institution, a small, com prehensive liberal arts college of approximately 1,900 full-time undergraduates in the Midwest, I began to deliberate how I could take advantage of the three-week interim period (the three weeks af ter Thanksgiving) between the autumn and winter terms when students typically do not take courses. I wished to create a short-term study abroad pro gram which would help develop a viable German program on campus, provide students with oppor tunities to develop cross-cultural and global under standings, allow students to experience first-hand German culture, retain students in the German pipeline, and increase the visibility of German and German studies on campus. The result of my ef forts was the course "Exploring Berlin: A Cultural, Multicultural, and Historical Treasure" which I taught from December 2-19, 2006. |
