Popis: | Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a major medical problem in several – dozen or so percent of the population of industrialized countries. In most, but not always, occurs with excess body weight and metabolic syndrome. The survey conducted among physicians that OSAS is underdiagnosed and neglected, identified primarily with simple snoring. This paper examines the co-occurrence of OSAS with other diseases or disorders of homeostasis. Among the 162 patients were men and 41 women. Average age of men 50.69 (SD 12.2) and women 58.28 (SD 11.4) differed significantly ( p 5 and the prevalence of obesity are concerned was proved between patients with mild to medium severity of OSAS, comparing with a group of patients with severe OSAS, with a level of probability = 0.001. In the summary it was found that cardiovascular disease, excessive weight, impaired glucose and lipid metabolism are common problems in patients with OSAS; severity and clinical stages of obstructive sleep apnea corresponded to the studied morphofunctional parameters. |
