Popis:	The present work details the journey towards development of a simple and cost-viable process for large-scale synthesis of rabeprazole sodium substantially free from the impurities. The detailed study of different parameters affecting the quality and yield percentage of the compound has been presented. Yield is increased from 40% (reported process) to 75% with the improved process at sulfoxidation stage.
