Transient Stability Analysis in Rotor Winding of Hydrogenerator at Various Short Circuit Values in Power Grid in Consideration with AEC

Popis: Study of the operating conditions of synchronous generator (SG) in parallel with the power grid and increasing their sustainability is currently an important task. For the purpose of increasing the stability of hydrogenerators, the automatic excitation control (AEC) is considered as an effective option. For calculation and analysis of electrical systems at steady-state and transient conditions, the MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment is used widely. Due to its possibilities to use functions "existing base", "blocks and models", as well as using the description of control elements, it is possible to analyze the operation condition of a synchronous hydrogenerator in the power grid under conditions of various short circuit (SC), taking into consideration the impact of strong actuated automatic excitation control (SA-AEC). The present article provides the results of transient stability analysis in rotor winding of Nurek HPP hydrogenerator. The results obtained allow to compare the transient phenomena in the rotor and the impact of SA-AEC at various SC.
