Popis:	The new Portex percutaneous tracheostomy kit has recently been evaluated by Caldicott et al. To date, there have been no life-threatening complications reported as a result of its use. We report a case of a large posterior tracheal wall tear with tension pneumothorax resulting from the use of this kit.
