Synthesis and characterization of lanthana/graphene oxide nanocomposite

Popis: In this work, graphene oxide (GO) is prepared by modified Hummer's method. Nanocomposite of lanthana/graphene oxide (La2O3/GO) is obtained by solution mixing method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), differential thermal gravimetry (DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). DTG analysis of La2O3/GO nanocomposite shows the stability of the nanocomposite up to 400°C. XRD and FT-IR verified the formation of crystalline GO and La2O3/GO nanocomposite. From TEM analysis, it is found that loading of La2O3 prevents the aggregation of GO sheets.
