Prediction of the real performance of Building Base Isolation (BBI) systems to control ground borne vibration has been the subject of several research programs in recent years. Comparing the vibration level in the superstructure in an isolated setup with that obtained in a non-isolated setup, the performance of the BBI system can be directly calculated. However, in practice, a non-isolated building does not exist. |
