In the clinical drug research the pharmacokinetic studies can be used not only to establish the optimal dosage scheme but also to solve other, for the clinical practice important problems. This may be exemplified by the comparison of the pharmacokinetics of chemically related drugs. In this way basic informations can be obtained for a differentiated administration of these drugs. Important are also studies in which differences are ascertained in the kinetics of a certain drug in healthy subjects and patients. And at last changes are to be followed that occur in the kinetics of a certain drug when another drug is given along. Examples are given to throw more light upon individual types of these studies using results of work done at the Czechoslovak institutes. |
