Popis: In this work, an attempt has been made to understand the dynamic performance of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) of three-area reheat-thermal power system. For more realistic study, Generation Rate Constraint (GRC) has been taken into account in all areas. Firstly, the Genetic Algorithm has been executed to obtain the optimal gains of PID regulator for the design of secondary control loop. Then, Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) unit has been placed with the AC tie line. Finally, the obtained results demonstrate the performance of IPFC unit.
