We will be ascertaining the moderating influence of symptom severity on the relation between regulatory beliefs and spontaneous strategy selection For this study, we will be recruiting participants from CloudResearch’s Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) to obtain a more generalizable sample compared to our sample from the first study (ERB1 Study: https://osf.io/mcdzp/, currently private). Similar to the ERB1 Study, emotional distress will be experimentally manipulated using a film-based mood induction task, with repeated probes for distress and applied strategies following mood induction. Regulatory beliefs and symptom severity will be measured through counterbalanced self-report questionnaires. |
