Popis: Analyzing data gathered on wave deformation in metals, the authors conclude that the number of dislocations is proportional to the square of the mass velocity in the range of shock pressures of 50 GPa. They construct a modified rheological model by drawing on several sources, and they conclude that within the framework of this model there is a natural treatment for the nontrivial effect of loss and recovery of strength behind the shock-wave front.
