Battery charging using a hill climbing MPPT algorithm and heuristic algorithm (MPPT)

Popis: The sudden surge in the power demand is very high compared to the supply of power. To overcome such issues and meet the demand-supply value the power generation is slowly shifting towards the RES (renewable energy sources) based systems are being used at generating stations. Of all the different RE sources, solar energy is the one such alternative. Out of all the available RES, solar energy is most used natural source and proved to be effective as the energy is available in abundance. Even though the solar energy is available in abundance, efficiency of it is not as expected so to overcome such defects a power electronic system is used with the PV panel. In this paper battery charging using a hill climbing algorithm and a heuristic algorithm is discussed. MPPT algorithms such as incremental conductance and fuzzy logic algorithms have been used to obtain maximum voltage from a boost converter. The output values are taken at battery terminal for different algorithms (MPP) for the same irradiation and temperature values.
