Popis: | The odontogenic cyst is a pathologic cavity lined by odontogenic epithelium and capsule. The objective of this study is to highlight the importance of clinical, radiographic, tomographic, and histopathological examination in the diagnosis of cystic maxillary cystic lesions. Patient reported diffuse pain, and edema in the region of element 47. After a clinical examination, the periapical radiograph of tooth 47 showed extensive lesion and root resorption. The dentist requested the computed tomography cone beam (CTCB), which indicated as a diagnostic hypothesis the apical radicular cyst and histopathological examination confirmed this diagnosis. Thus, CTCB was fundamental in the planning of successful treatment, since it allows the 3-dimensional visualization showing details, extent, and location of the lesion. |
