Popis: | An analytical model showing the effect of adsorbed air on the resolution of biological nanoparticles in atomic-force microscopy is developed. It is found that the lateral topographic sizes of images of biological nanoparticles do not reflect their actual transverse sizes and are mainly required to determine the object length and configuration on the substrate. It is shown that the height (diameter) of extended nanoparticles on the substrate is determined with sufficient accuracy, which is consistent with available experimental data obtained by other methods. |
