A study has been made of polyorganosiolazosiloxanes (POSS) prepared by block copolymerization of N,N′-bis-(hydroxydemithylsilyl)tetramethyllcyclodisilazane with octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane at 60°, using ammonium as the initiator, and varying the ratio of initial monomers. It was found that the incorporation of different amounts of cyclosilazane fragments into the polymer chain of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) does not result in any major changes in hydrodynamic or conformational properties, or in the thermomechanical behaviour of the obtained polymers compared with PDMS prepared with a similar initiator. It is shown that along with the linear macromolecules branched chains are present in the POSS. |
