Popis: | Radioactive waste management programs are vital activities required to provide conclusiveness, efficiency, and stability in supporting nuclear power programs around the globe. As more countries develop nuclear power generating programs and/or rapidly decommission nuclear power plant sites, access to radioactive waste storage/disposal facilities is of great concern. Discussed in Parts I and II of this series, countries are at different stages of progression in fulfilling moral and legal obligations with regard to managing created radioactive wastes and spent nuclear fuel. Part III considers countries not reviewed in Parts I and II – Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Romania. This work also contemplates influencers impacting radioactive waste management programs, as well as discusses consent and science-based siting essentials. |
