Unique, monoclonal antibody (MoAb) defined cell differentiation antigens are increasingly accepted as markers for certain cell lines and for particular differentiation stages [1,2]. However, while we clearly do not know many answers, we do have some new questions dealing with clinical application of monoclonal antibodies. In this report we shall try to gather information on the following of these problems: (1) How MoAbs should be used; (2) the diagnostic utility of MoAb; and (3) evidence that some phenotypes may serve as novel prognostic indices, useful for the so-called risk-adopted strategy of therapy of acute leukemia (AL). |
