Comedones Appearing After Herpes Zoster Infection: A Report of 7 Cases

Popis: The occurrence of cutaneous reactions after herpes zoster infection is a well-known dermatological phenomenon: granuloma annulare, sarcoidal granuloma, tuberculoid granuloma, granulomatous vasculitis, lymphoma, pseudolymphoma, Kaposi sarcoma, fungal infections, and leishmaniasis have been recorded. We report 7 cases in which different degrees of postherpetic comedogenesis occurred. Report of Cases. After the first 2 patients who developed comedones in the area of previous herpes zoster infection were casually observed, the routine follow-up of herpes zoster included a specific assessment of follicular plugging. In a 2-year survey, 7 of 36 patients (25 female and 11 male) who consulted for a herpes zoster or a postherpetic dermatosis were found to develop comedones in the area of the previous herpes zoster eruption.
