Popis: Rhinosinusitis is defined as inflammation of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Pediatric patients with rhinosinusitis are often thought to have other common conditions. The diagnosis is based on physical symptoms as well as objective signs seen on either nasal endoscopy or computerized tomography (CT) scan. Rhinosinusitis can be further categorized based on the duration of signs and symptoms, into acute, recurrent acute, and chronic rhinosinusitis. Parents report that children with rhinosinusitis have a negative impact on the quality of life of their children as compared to other common chronic diseases, such as asthma and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
