Popis: Many patients with undetected coarctation of the aorta will remain symptom-free until adolescence or early adulthood, when symptoms such as headaches related to hypertension, leg fatigue, or leg cramps may develop. Most untreated patients will die before 50 years of age. Death is most frequently caused by a complication of hypertension, such as stroke or aortic dissection, but other causes included endocarditis, endarteritis, and congestive heart failure [1]. Patients with coarctation of the aorta should be diagnosed at a young age before hypertension develops.
