Popis: | a novel SMA Adaptor is proposed to excite circularly polarized wave in the substrate integrated E-plane waveguide (SIEW). The adaptor is built by binding two printed circuit board parts, which allows the insertion of copper strips into the middle layer of the structure. A piece of ‘T’ shape copper strip is inserted at the middle layer to excite the horizontal component of electric field. A small plated through hole is used to excite the vertical component of electric field. The two orthogonal field components propagate in the SIEW with different propagation constants. A 90 degree phase difference between the two orthogonal components can be obtained after the wave propagates a certain distance in the SIEW. Consequently, circularly polarized wave is excited at that location. |
