Popis: | About half the global production of primary cobalt is from nickel laterite and sulfide ores. Most of this cobalt is produced by the leaching of laterites and the smelting of sulfide concentrates. Both these processes produce an intermediate sulfide that is refined by hydrometallurgical techniques. Cobalt is not recovered during laterite to ferronickel smelting; instead, it is incorporated in the ferronickel product. |
