Popis: | A series of Permalloy films in the thickness range 1800 to 4910 A were deposited by ``flash‐evaporation.'' Each set of films consisted of Permalloy only, Permalloy with a thin layer of palladium above, and Permalloy with a thin layer of palladium both above and below. Expressions for the rf surface impedance in both the perpendicular and the parallel configuration for a film with different surface anisotropy energies on each surface were derived and computer solutions for their derivatives were obtained. It was found that the experimental mode intensities and field positions fit the theory extremely well in both configurations. A computer solution for the angular dependence of the resonance field was obtained and it was found that the Pd–Py–Pd films fit this extremely well assuming complete pinning. |
