This paper focuses on Sliding Mode controller design for Single Machine Infinite Bus(SMIB) having Power System Stabilizer (PSS) associated with it. Generalised Sliding mode control action having discontinuous control action suffers from high gain chattering issues which is created due to dynamics of the system. In general SMC requires the time derivative of the sliding variable which is a discontinuous one. To avoid the high gain chattering issues and the discreteness of the SMC, this paper proposes a variable sliding gain and the reachability condition based sliding mode control according to different switching signal. The main idea behind the rechability condition based SMC is to reduce the sliding gain even during reaching condition and to provide a variable gain. At last numerical simulation are presented to verify the proposed control technique. |
