Micro-Raman scattering on superconducting HgBa2Can−1CunO2n+2+δ (n = 1, 2, 3) ceramics

Popis: | We have measured the micro-Raman scattering on the mercury-based cuprate superconductors HgBa 2 CuO 4+δ (Hg-1201), HgBa 2 CaCu 2 O 6+δ (Hg-1212) and HgBa 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 8+δ (Hg-1223) in ceramic forms. The observed Raman spectra showed similar features for all the samples. A strong peak at ∼585 cm -1 was tentatively attributed to the apical oxygen vibrating along the c -direction. A shoulder peak at ∼570 cm -1 was speculated to be due to the vibration of the interstitial oxygen. Weak features around 180 cm -1 were observed for all the samples. The Raman spectrum from CaHgO 2 was also reported. The power dependence of the Raman peaks was studied on Hg-1212. Raman scattering on a Hg-1212 thin film was also measured. |
