The current project aims to investigate the relationship between participants’ attitudes regarding others’ prosociality and those participants’ responses to prosocial vocal communication by another person. Specifically, we focus on laughter which provides a unique window into affiliative and cooperative relationships (Bryant et al., 2016). In this study, we will test whether more idealistic attitudes, operationalized as greater estimates of the prosociality of other people, is associated with stronger self-reported laughter responses to another person’s laughter. |
