GNPy: an open source planning tool for open optical networks

Popis: We present GNPy: an open source software abstracting the physical layer of an optical network. GNPy has been developed by the physical simulation environment (PSE) team in the telecom infra project (TIP) consortium. We experimentally demonstrate the accuracy of the tool in predicting the quality of transmission (QoT) in a network, and then we demonstrate how GNPy can be used to address physical layer upgrades and how this can lead to large benefits in the network.
