The main features of the poroelectron emission (PEE) in high vacuum conditions are briefly described. It is shown that current densities from negative gas saturated electrode can reach A/m 2 at constant electric field strength 10 5 -10 6 V/m. The measured erosion rate of porous graphite electrode at 10 6 V/m equals 10 −7 kg s −1 m −2 . The comparison with evaluated electric field strength at plasma sheath in tokamaks permits to suppose that in some cases PEE induced erosion can be comparable with physical sputtering and large negative currents can influence plasma sheath parameters |
