Control of fluid flow around a square prism by fluid injection at low Reynolds number

Popis: The two-dimensional wake structure behind a fixed, rigid square prism with fluid injection from the single, relatively narrow slot (h/H=0.1) has been computed at low Reynolds number (Re=ρ·U∞·H/μ=100 based on the side length of the prism and freestream velocity) using a finite volume method (FVM). Injection surface (i.e. front and rear) and injection rate (from IR=UJ/U∞=0 to 3 by 0.2 step) are the key parameters that determine the aerodynamic and flow characteristics. Two flow patterns for the prism with front jet and four flow patterns for the prism with rear jet were identified with respect to IR. Flow patterns were associated with changes in flow and aerodynamic characteristics.
