Popis: This chapter discusses how woven, braided, and knitted scaffolds have been used in bone, cartilage, tendon, and ligament tissue engineering (TE). First, we describe the different steps for manufacturing filaments, yarns, and bioabsorbable textiles. Then we discuss issues related to the characterization and modelling of fabrics and scaffolds. In separate sections, we also consider four different applications of experimental TE using textile scaffolds, and we list currently available commercial products.
