In the early of 15th century, the Ming’s expansion to the South, especially with the invasion of Dai Viet, caused danger to other nation in East Asia. In this situation, Joseon used the knowledge of Minh Dai Viet relation to contruct and implement the Sadae policy in their relation with China. Joseon’s effort in maintaining the stable relationship with the Ming by expressing the submission and legitimation of their dynasty revealed Joseon’s reaction toward the changes in Ming – Dai Viet relation. As Joseon’s strategies to maintain the independence, Sadae policy reflected the impacts of Ming – Dai Viet relation in the history of early 15th century East Asia. |
