Popis: A combination of experimental results and analytical work indicates the feasibility of a cascaded thermionic converter comprised of a barium‐cesium stage with an emitter temperature of 2000 K and a cesium close‐spaced stage with a collector temperature of 740 K having an overall lead efficiency of 27%. This cascaded converter has potential beneficial applications to space nuclear power, space terrestrial solar power and topping cycles in fossil or nuclear central stations.
