A wideband planar rectenna for WLAN wireless power transmission

Popis: A wideband slot rectenna is designed for wireless power transmission operating at the WLAN 2.45 GHz band in this study. The rectenna consists of a planar wideband slot antenna and a rectifying circuit. The rectenna is fabricated on a cheap FR4 substrate with a compact size of 45 mm by 67 mm. Results of the designed rectenna show that good agreement between simulated and measured reflection coefficients, radiations, and conversion efficiencies is observed. The measured −10 dB bandwidth of the rectenna is 1.3 GHz (50.0 %, 1.95–3.25 GHz), which covers the WLAN 2.45 GHz band. The simulated maximum efficiency of 73.7 % is achieved. Radiation properties and efficiency of the proposed rectenna are suitable for the purpose of wireless energy harvesting or power transmission.
