Use of telemetry allows us to study biologic phenomena under normal conditions and thus offers a major advantage over the standardized but nonphysiologic conditions in the laboratory [6, 8]. In patients with coronary heart disease, ischemia limits left ventricular function, and this entails an increase in pulmonary artery pressure which precedes the appearance of anginal pain. However, because pulmonary artery pressure varies with body position [3, 7], we designed a study to observe pulmonary artery pressure in two different situations - bicycle exercise and cross-country walking. |
