Popis:	The improved synthesis of tafuramycin A (I) includes a regioselective bromination step, a controlled aryl radical alkene cyclization to prevent dechlorination, and a new protection/deprotection method to avoid double bond reduction of the furan ring during deprotection of the benzyl group.
