Magnetism and hydrogen absorption in UNiZn

Popis: UNiZn is the first Zn containing U TX ternary with the ZrNiAl structure type. Zn is smaller than other p -metals (Al, Ga, Sn, In) forming this type of structure. This compound can be seen as analogous to UNiAl and UNiGa, but the small X ligand leads to a non-magnetic ground state with moderately enhanced Sommerfeld coefficient γ = 100 mJ/mol K 2 . H absorption leads to analogous effects (amount of hydrogen absorbed, crystal structure changed) as in UNiAlH 2.3 , in which the ordering temperature increases. UNiZnH 2.3 exhibits antiferromagnetic order below the Neel temperature T N = 55 K.
