Popis: | Langmuir-Blodgett films of two amphiphilic liquid crystalline phthalocyanines, differing in the lengths of their substituent chains, have been prepared on various substrates. Monolayers were obtained at an air:water interface. π− A isotherms reveal very satisfactory stability of the compressed monolayers were transferred Y-type by are approximately perpendicular to the water surface. The compressed monolayers were transferred Y-type by vertical motion of the substrate. Polarized visible region spectrophotometry, transmission infrared spectroscopy and reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy reveal ordering within the films. Two distinct types of molecular packing are observed depending on the length of the hydrophobic chain. Both undergo significant reorganization at elevated temperature. |
