Popis: “We Do Not Inherit the Earth from Our Ancestors; We Borrow It from Our Children.” With rising pollution problems, the depletion of fossil fuel reserves, and the overexploitation of resources, the world’s leaders, researchers, and engineers are striving to find solutions to the energy problem. We present in this chapter a control strategy for photovoltaic (PV) panels in order to increase their life span. PV panels have a life span of 27+ years. By means of control we enhanced their life span up to 40 years. It is found that the temperature of the panel plays an important role in its degradation. A control was applied to decrease the operating temperature of the panel leading to a decrease in the degradation rate of the PV panels. Integration of these control strategies in energy management systems is a priority for enhanced efficiency of solar plants.
