Popis: | The aim of this paper is to present a high voltage pulse generator which is able to generate 3 to 30 kV pulses through a 50 Ω load impedance, lasting less than 1 ns and having a rise-time of a hundred picoseconds. The pulse repetition frequency is superior to 1 kHz. The technology of this coaxial generator based upon the technology of a high pressure gas switch is described. Dedicated probes and attenuators were constructed in order to measure pulses delivered by the generator without perturbation. The procedure and the calibration tests are also presented. Finally, a simulation using Spice software allows the determination of the parameters which limit the performance of the system in order to model and optimize the transient response of the generator. Simulation results are compared to experimental ones and validate the Spice model. |
