Popis: | The current literature shows that pharmacologic treatment of pulmonary sarcoidosis should depend on patient-specific symptomology and be individually customized. Approaching this multifaceted disease process that has poorly understood etiology and disease predictability is further complicated by a lack of standardized guidelines for this condition, specifically detailing the appropriateness of observation for possible spontaneous resolution and when to initiate pharmacotherapy in the primary care setting. Variability in treatment can result in worsening symptoms and poor outcomes. Tailoring pharmacotherapy to meet the needs of each patient while basing treatment on current evidence allows for the delivery of optimal patient care. |
