Popis: | We present an experimental study of the intersubband electroabsorption and electrorefraction of a coupled asymmetrical quantum well structure. The field induced carrier transfer from a wide well to a narrow well yields interesting electro‐optical properties. For instance, we found a particular wavelength region where a strong phase modulation is associated with a low absorption modulation. We verified that the measurements of the correlated phase and amplitude modulation were consistent with Kramers–Kronig transformations of experimental differential absorption spectra. |
