Popis: We used nitrogen adsorption and mercury intrusion to examine the morphology of asymmetric, hollow fiber, gas separation membranes. The pore parameters from these tests statistically correlated with processing variations. In addition, those from nitrogen adsorption correlated with permeation performance. Wet spinning gave fibers with significantly larger pore volumes and average pore diameters than did dry-jet wet spinning. This resulted in higher fluxes but lower selectivities.
