Process scheduler plays an important part in the Operating System. Modern Day Operating Systems need to be enabled to execute the high end applications. If the operating systems parameters are tuned properly according to the need of the user it can reduce an excess overhead in utilization of CPU thus reducing the execution time for tasks. In this paper we present the Performance Estimation achieved by tuning the Linux Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) Parameters. The Process Scheduler of Linux Kernel can be customized as per the load on the system. With the increase in number of cores of processor it is the need to manage the resources to achieve highly performance gain. Our results show not only optimization in performance but the response time estimation is increased by 10% as compared to the original configuration of the scheduler parameters. |
