In this study, the pressure drop and heat transfer behaviors of the microchannel evaporators using the boiler feed water were investigated experimentally. The physical and chemical components of the boiler feed water were also determined for this case study. The results of the pressure drop obtained from two measurement methods are the same, with the maximum percentage error is less than 3%. At the low flow rate, the microchannel evaporator with short channel length has lower pressure drop; however, this evaporator has higher pressure drop at the high flow rate. The experimental data above are essential for designing the microchannel evaporators. |
